This song is about a person I was real close to for a period of time when he/she wasn’t feeling very well. I was in London writing with a bloke called Lex. We wrote the melody from scratch one afternoon while I was staying at his house, and then at night after dinner while I was up in my bed I took out the computer and wrote the entire lyric. It is really about how much you can do when you really make an effort to get your act together. You can win any war if you really set your mind to it. And being a part of seeing this person fight that battle was amazing and inspiring in some ways but also incredibly hard to be a bystander unable to do anything since it was his/her battle.

We really tried to make this one fly in the studio, it was important to make it as dramatic and theatrical as the song is. I almost get a vibe of film music when I hear this songs, it gives me pictures of dramatic scenery. It’s gonna be exciting to hear where it ends up when it’s finished.
